Here's a super wide field shot of Orion taken 11 Nov.
It's taken with the Canon and 10mm lens set @ f/4.5 ISO 800
I love the colour contrast of the blue star, Sirius, and the orange, Mars.
There's also a host of other objects in this shot so I've included a sky map.
I've attached the results of a quick level tweak (I turned down saturation a bit too). After resizing and jpeg-ing it does not look as good but still you can see the structure of the Milky Way.
I don't know about PS, but in the Gimp you go to "Levels" (Layers -> Colours -> Levels) and then you get a pop-up level-tweak box like in the second pic I've attached. You can pick the black level from the pic using the eyedropper and then tweak the gamma, that's the middle number, 1.00 in the pic. PS will have something very similar to this dialog.
Nice one Andrew seems to be a bit of severe vignetting? - were you using a lens hood there mate? thats the only catch with them I guess - have you got CS or CS2? there a great devignetting feature in the digital section.

Spot on Kearn, I was getting dew forming so I grabbed the hood.
I didn't realise the vignetting until you pointed it out.
