Cederberg rock formations

Here are a couple of pics of the weird rock formations near our observatory, in the Cederberg mountains, North of Cape Town. (More like "Extra Terrestrial Photography!")

Very nice. It almost looks like it's been man made. They look like totems. Seems pretty unstable though? Like it's going to fall any minute.

Thanks for posting, Chris.

Unusual formations, looks like a great place to explore. Any big cats in the area?

Al.

Al,
We have the odd leopard in the area (baboons are the spotted one's delicacy). However, they are very seldom seen.

very cool rock formations. in a way its reminiscent of Bryce Canyon in the USA, per these photos. i forgot exactly what the native Americans called this canyon but its something along the lines of 'many men standing in bowl'.

Thanks for the comments, Ian I think I'll move the Cederberg Observatory to Brice Canyon!
