Early morning at Noosa NP

Hi all,

Here are a couple of images taken at dawn yesterday morning. I used an ND8 filter and shut the aperture right down so that I could use long exposures (30-45 sec), because I wanted to get the "creamy" effect in the waves. First time I've tried this approach, and I'm fairly happy with the result.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Nice work Stephen, lovely effect.

It's a shame the sky didn't open up to give you some more colours.

A lovely, moody, atmospheric effect Stephen – well done! Were these taken in the Granite Bay region in the national park?

Cheers

Nice work, Stephen.

Given your stated aim of achieving the 'creamy' look, your efforts were a complete success.

Stephen, they're just lovely.
Inspiring.
Methinks I'll have to head over to Bribie this week and see what I can capture.
Thanks so much.

Thanks Mike. Yes, it was a bit of a shame that it was so overcast. But I only had the one opportunity this weekend, so had to make the most of it!

Thanks Dennis - I has planning to go to Tea Tree Bay, but dawn was already starting when I got to the carpark area (4:15 am), so I ended up taking these from just in front of the car!

Thanks Matt. As I said, this was my first go at this sort of shot, and I'm pleased with the result. Will try and get a bit more foreground interest next time

Thanks Adam. I found it almost impossible to get one of these from camera shops (I guess there's not much demand), but tracked one down on-line without much trouble.

Cheers,
Stephen

Whoops – is Granite Bay a “naughty” area? I though that the beach further down the headland, the bay after Hells Gates, was the “naughty” beach?

Cheers

Given that it was about 4:20 am when I was taking these shots, I don't think there was any naughtiness at either beach!

Cheers,
Stephen
