QHY8 CCD First Light

VC200L F/6.4 QHY8 CCD
35 min stack of 2min/5min lights, layered processed in Nebulosity and Photoshop.
Adjusted curves in each RGB channel, cropped.

Stars are over sharpened but I'm happy with the detail I could get in the core. Not sure if the core looks too burnt for the surrounding areas?

Very nice detail in the core Leinad. Selective sharpening via layer masks will prevent star over sharpening, not that I think you have oversharpened them.

Thanks Paul, silly me got too involved in the processing and forgot to save the file in PS through the stages. I think I have overdone the per channel contrast on the core, as the detail doesnt appear to bring out the depth that I would have liked it to, now that I look back at it.

I guess I'll have to add a Ha filter to the Xmas list

Great work Dan... I dare say with further stretching that there is much more detail in the 5min subs that can be stretched out.... With regards to the core, I think you'll find that your brightness and intensity is about right, the core area is much brighter than the surrounding areas, and whilst it may be visually pleasing to see the dynamic range dulled down so that it all looks uniform, that may not be a technically correct looking image...

Well done with the QHY8!

Next thing to do... Longer subs!
