Eastern water dragons

Hi all.

Captured these images at the Bottanical Gardens here in Bundaberg. I've counted 50+ of these dragons ranging from 185mm right up to just over 1M.

I usually sit with them on my free days so they can get used to seeing me. Their basic instinct is to be quite inquisitive; I can sit prone for awhile & 15 mins later be surrounded by at least 20 of them.

Facinating creatures & make excellent subjects!

Both the males in these two shots are about 1M in length.

Cheers.

is that the land that time forgot? you are the lizard king mate!
one bushwalk i frequent, certain times of the year, when i see little bearded dragons, we stop, and they love the flies that follow us, if we keep still, and climb all over us feasting on them, they love it! you sure they arent after a free feed?

another walk i talk, we see giant (normal looking) skinks you can get, local strain, a dozen or so sunning on rocks by river late afternoon, i keep meaning to take a camera, havent touched a shutter button in yonks, 12 stepper ya know *hic*
