Hey Matt.
Stickers are easy, just send me a stamped self-addressed envelope and I'll send you some. Or if you get Astronomy 2006 off me, I've been throwing stickers in the envelope already
IIS Red Light Pens are on their way in the next few weeks..
For other merchandise, there was a thread a little while back about getting some IIS embroidered polo shirts, but at the time there wasn't enough "yes" votes to put an order through, as I can't afford to have 50 shirts sitting on the shelf at home without anyone buying them.
I had thought of using "http://www.cafepress.com" to get IIS merchandise made up. You basically supply a logo and pick the type of merchandise you want it to go on (includes everything, shirts, caps, mugs, underwear, mousemats, drink holders, etc). I don't have to keep stock, it's basically printed in the US and sent out to you when you order.
The quality of a "printed" shirt in the US may not be as good as an embroidered shirt made locally, but it's cheaper and less risk for me because I don't need to keep stock.
In the end, it's up to you guys. I'm happy to facilitate the ordering of all this stuff (locally or through cafepress) but there has to be enough interest in
you guys actually buying it, for it to be worth going to the trouble of setting it all up.
Have a look at cafepress and the gear on offer and post your thoughts if you'd prefer to use something like that, or prefer something embroidered etc.
There's always a risk that people will say "yeh that looks great, i'd buy them", but then the "gimmick" factor wears off and people realise they don't actually need/want it after all.
I'm all for taking over the world with an IIS-clad army, would be great at star parties
