Rosette

I have never attempted this object before, so I stuck with 10 minute exposures to see how it would turn out.

12x10 min
Bintel 200mm f5 Reflector
QHY8
Nebulosity2
Guided
DSS and PS CS3

Very nice image Graham. You certainly have the QHY8 working well with your scope. Looks like you need a bit more field of view or need to start working on mosaics to fit everything in.

Well done Mate.

Some excellent detail there on the dust lanes, shows you got focus and guiding nailed, and the star colour is attractive. The neb colour is a bit monotonic though, and it appears you could stretch a bit more to bring out more neb. What mount was used?.

Thanks JJJ, glad you liked it.
Hi Doug, I have nearly got all the bits coming for the Megrez 110, including a FF/FR and a focus motor, so that will take care of my field problems!
Hi Bassnut, I am at the limit of my processing experience, as with the image of M42 and NGC1977 that I posted also, each new image is another step on the ladder. I use an out of the box EQ6Pro.

Pretty neat. As said before you've nailed focus and guiding. Never had a go at it either but I wanted too this Saturday. Lucky I didn't though because there's no way I could have got many 10min subs on it this week-end and it looks like it needs a lot of them to show up. Might start it in Ha and test the waters..
