Weather Balloons

Weather balloons use to consist of some container attached to a balloon.
To-day at 5:55 pm I noticed something flashing up very high in the East. Too high for a airplane I thought, I grabbed my binoculars and saw a highly reflective cylinder tumbling and turning as it traveled app. 60 degrees up, from a Easterly direction toward North then West. I then noticed another similar one, both visible in the six degrees field of my binoc's. Fascinating to watch.
As seen from Castle Hill, Sydney.

Nice view would have looked great. But I thought that WEATHER BALLOON was code for UFO's QUE the Theme from ROSWELL

Weather balloons

With no boxes attached, they might not be weather balloons.
