Heads up: Movie "Amelia" hits Nov 12th

I'm also interested in air history as well as space. This movie has been done before a number of times, but for those that like a bit of entertainment the newest incarnation looks orright!

Checked out the trailer . I love flying history so I will probably see it for the flying sequences, but neverthless Hollywood films generally suck.

Hence my statement: "...but for those that like a bit of entertainment" Mark. I agree - A good film about Amelia Earhart would have to be gritty and serious, like she was. They could, for once, leave out the love story and concentrate on the achievement. This is Hollywood though - and they foot the bill based on all-round acceptance.

The romance side of it is reason enough for me not to go see it.

Not only was Amelia Earhart a great advocate for womans rights, I thought that she played for the other side. Bloody Hollywood they distort everything.

Greg.

As far as I'm aware, that was just rumours and inuendo. Would her memory be better served by making a film based on this?

Her sexuality is totally irrelevant to her story.
Which is why I object to the romance side of this Hollywood movie.

I love Amelia Erhardt!!!
I heard on 774 the other day, that a lock of what was purported to be her hair, kept at the Smithsonian, turned out to be a bit of string!
Alive and living in Polynesia?
Who can say?

Thank you Jeanette,

My point exactly.
Greg.

P.S. Have you heard Joni Mitchell's tribute to her, (Amelia) there is a great live version on "Shadows and Light".
