Thanks for the link! I've got Out of the Blue but I notice they have some Spectrum albums and I haven't heard them in yonks.

I always liked the titles of MacKenzie Theory's two albums - Out of the Blue ('no one has heard of us') and Bon Voyage ('we imploded after two albums')

BTW did you know that Claes Pearce from MacKenzie Theory was in another band years later called Coolangubra? Very different but worth a listen. That woman can make an electric viola sing.

Hi Eric,

I have purchased a few releases from Aztec Records over the last couple of years (Aztecs, Ross Ryan and some). The company was set up by Gil Matthews (Aztecs drummer) and by all account the music is all recovered from the original masters, and then re-mastered by ear before being re-released. The packaging is faithful to the original and sound quality is excellent.

Regards.

Greg.
P.S. I am looking forward to the Mark Gillespie albums.

Thanks, I'll search that out!

I saw MacKenzie Theory twice. Around midnight at a freezing cold outdoor concert in Goulburn. And a farewell concert at Uni NSW. Loved what they were doing.

Wow, I'll check that site out! What the blurb doesn't mention is that Cleis and Stephen met in Coolangubra at an anti-logging blockade. Greg was the drummer from MacKenzie Theory.

Oh wow, great!! I'm so glad you like them.

You've inspired me to listen to them again - '32 steps to compassion' at the moment. IMO they are about the right pace for . I don't like like it to frenetic when I'm trying to relax.

Oh 'Finding You (Again)' just started.

PS Listening to them at 1pm?? Why aren't you at work?
