Venus from Snake Valley

Didn't take my own scope, but couldn't resist taking a few handheld afocal shots with my Sony DSCP100 held up to the eyepiece of Ken's 12" dob (and his 6mm series 500, I think?) and Dave47Tuc's 10" dob (and his 12mm Nagler, I think).

Seeing was pretty ordinary, I captured these in burst mode and was able to stack a couple that were sharp.

1/500s exposure and 3x optical zoom was used.

They came out pretty well for hand held, well done!!

I've been really slack on the imaging side. I could of got a nice shot of Venus a couple of nights ago and Mars last night wasn't looking to bad either. Just been too lazy lately either that or I'm just enjoying the lil bits of clear sky we're getting here and there.

regards,CS

NIce going there Mike!, with the weather being the way it has been this past week or so, you must be churning through your images from Snake Valley, and the holidays!
