Thanks for the welcomes

First off I'd like to apologise for not replying to the two welcome threads for me, i joined up but never actually got around to posting until now. So thanks RAJAH235' and ballaratdragons and everyone that replied.

Secondly i'd like to congratulate iceman and everyone that has contributed to the site, it's really grown unbelievably quick since i visited last. So much info to digest here i'll have to get cracking

Anyway thanks again and look forward to learning heaps here.

Laz, if you want to take Astrophotos you will definately need tracking. You have probably read a lot about it in here. I am about to give my TouCam a try and I am going to attempt hand nudging as my tracking method because I own a Dob and I don't have a tracking platform for it.

Come on all you Victorians/Melbourneites/Geelongities, tell Laz where to go.
Laz, an open/viewing night is put on by the, (insert your locale here), Astro. Societies/clubs, for the purpose of introducing those interested, to go along & view our glorious skies, & answer lots of newbie type questions.
They also try their best, not to 'scare them off', by telling the real costs involved in astronomy.
If it's poss., when you get directions, get yourself along to an open night. Great fun with lots of good people.......
L.
