PHD failure

tonight l fired up PHD and no matter what l tried it kept telling me RA calibration failed, star did not move far enough?
tried different stars, different settings and nothing made any difference, l've used PHD many times and never had this problem, any ideas guys.

The checklist I beat myself over the head with:

You did triple check all the cables? Do you have spares in case one is faulty?

Does the mount move in both RA and Dec using PHD's buttons? If not, does it work from the G11's hand control?

Are you sure you haven't changed anything? Windows patches?

Hi!
In the "brain" section, there is a setting for calibration steps. Raise this up until it calibrates. I think default is around 700ms, I have mine up to 1500. Also (LOL), make sure you haven't selected a hot pixel!!

Is it the original version you have always used? The other thing is that the mount may be binding - loosen every thing off and give them a 360 degree twirl or two to redo the grease and try it again. I found I had to do this recently as it was binding in one axis - was right after I did that. I was running the latest version.

Last time i seen this, was when i was trying to guide on a hot pixel, or spec of dirt !!

mines an early version Leon and never had a software issue, thankfully just a bad lead. it's a superb piece of gear when working.
