Starlight Customer Service

Has anyone emailed Starlight Instruments before, and how long did it take till you got a response ?

I emailed them over a week ago; have followed up every second day, and haven't got a response yet.

I'm gonna have to use VOIP to call them when the time is suitable if they don't reply soon to my email

That's odd because they are a very reputable company. I conversed with them about 18 months ago for some parts and from memory they were very prompt and extremely helpful. Good luck with it.

I dealt with them a lot a few years ago, but the company changed hands, and this time round (bought a FT3545 and a few other items), they were impossible to deal with, until I wrote direct to a company member.
Still a bit sporadic from them, but I am almost complete.
What were you after, if it was a digital drive system I can help you out, will have some parts for sale soon.

No problems with my order

Iv'e just dealt with the company. Placed an order for a focusser for my Tak Sky 90 on 11th Oct. They replied to an email about shipping costs to Australia, then sent further emails once I'd placed the order - this time to say how to pay and confirmed I had ordered the correct item. I didn't want to send details of my credit card by email, so I rang them and placed the order direct over the phone. (They don't have PayPal set up yet).
Received the focusser last Wednesday 21st. So the whole deal from emailing an enquiry, odering via their website, giving credit card details over the phone and having the goods arrived took 10 days.

Keep persisting , their products are worth the effort.

Hi Paul, Good to know you had good dealings with them.
I'll keep persisting. What time did you call the, being that they are based in the States?

They have a replacement focuser for the Vixen VC200L which Im very interested in, and a little over-excited actually

Although their products are quite expensive they do look exceptionally engineered and of high quality.

I phoned them about 1am SA DST. As they had already given me an order number (previously advised with their email quoting shipping costs), they simply looked it up, then I gave them my credit card details and that was it.
By the way, they had told me to place the initial order via their web site. It calculates a shipping charge that is not correct (to Australia), and then they send an email with the correct shipping charge and ask you to arrange payment.
When the focuser arrived, it was well packed in a small box with foam cut-outs and 3 pages of instructions with colour photos and the required tools and fasteners. It fitted perfectly and worked perfectly.

I'm going to have to call them it seems, as the emails I've sent haven't been replied to for over a week.
