Photo targets for tonight?

Can anyone suggest some nice photographic targets rising in the east for this time of year?

I am primed with the ED120 and running out of ideas

Baz.

Thanks David,

That IS a pretty planetary in Eridanus! I actually picked a very challenging target in Eridanus, NGC 1291, a ringed galaxy with a very bright core but a very faint outer ring. I'm hitting it with 20 minute exposures and I can only JUST see the outer rings in a single sub!

Thanks for the suggestion though. I'll add it to my list of spring targets.

Baz.

The gum nebula in vela is rising at about 2300hrs if my memory serves.. tarantula is on the rise a few hours before that... early in the AM (0130~0200hrs) you could try for the running chicken, eta carine, NGC3576 etc... Lots going on in the wee hours of the morning if you're dedicated enough to wait up for them!

With your focal length, M78 would make a nice target, mixture of dusty goodness and reflection neb.. Can't go wrong with that!

Can you get M33 in the north from your location? She's always a beauty with 20 minute subs!

Theres plenty more floating around, some targets I dont even bother looking at because they are just far too small for my focal length...
