The North American Nebula NGC7000

Hi all, this image was taken with a 50mm lens at f3.2 on Astro 40D camera. It is a combination of 16 x 4 minute exposures at ISO 400. I think this region may need longer than 4 minute subs. NGC 7000 is very close to my northern horizon, which can be seen to the lower left of the image. To the left of NGC 7000 is the magnitude 1.3 Deneb. Above that is the fainter Pelican Nebula and towards the upper left corner is the brighter region of the Gama Cygnus Nebula.

Did a restack etc on this one and added some labels to show objects and their Declinations. I was surprised to get the Cocoon nebula to show up with the 50mm lens as it's only 10'x10'.

Nice work! Yes, those objects sure are low down towards the horizon, not ideal for us south of the equator. Thanks for showing us the views with object labels.

Great job with just a 50mm lens Lester.

The colour looks better in the second image and the horizon shows up more as well.

I think you've done very well to capture these objects at all. The second image is a lot smoother and therefore easier to make out. I think you are right that longer subs would be helpful. Very well done.

Thanks Frank. I am still learning the processing for DSO images, and wasn't real happy with the colour of the first.
