Now on TV in the US

1st episodes available through torrent EzTV

No overly impressed with introduction but has potential

Looks like Defying Gravity has been canned after 9 episodes

When does it come to Seven or Ten ?

Or am I going to have to wait for it to be made available on DVD and hire the DVDs to watch it then ?

I'm assuming like all Sci-fi in Australia it will be on DVD long before it airs on free to air TV IF it ever gets on to free to air lol.

Remember a little show called Farscape? one week its on at 4pm in the afternoon next week its 2am.

Defying Gravity is still airing in Canada and episode 10 has been released there. But in the USA they have put it on hold, due to be rescheduled. There is a lot of rumors flying around about the shows future. But I can confirm episode 10 has been aired.

SGU looks promosing, but the intro did not really hook me. I was enjoying Atlantis and am disapointed it has been canned. Lookin forward to the movie releases.

Wish there was something new on the horizion for Start Trek. Maybe based on the new movie where they future has now significantly changed with Vulcan destroyed. Will this mean a new sequence of movies for the TOS charecters? Again i was enjoying Enterprise which also was cut short.

SCIFI shows do not seem to be lasting as long as they once did.

Speaking of Defying Gravity, I saw it being advertised on Foxtel's Arena channel on the weekend which I thought was interesting. In fact I think the first episode was on tonight.

As for Stargate Universe, I've never really been into the whole "Stargate" thing, although I know some guys at work who are HUGE fans. But I think I might give this one a go.

Netwolf, I agree with you wholeheartly on the Star Trek series. I only just recently got back into it and I loved it. Watched Enterprise for the first time towards the end of last year and I thought it was great. And Voyager (which actually inspired me to get into Astromony) I watched at the start of the year and I picked up where I left off when it first came out (about Season 4) and thoroughly enjoyed it.

But alas, I just don't think TV is interested in Sci Fi anymore.

Julian, while we are on the subject, and I've been meaning to say this for some time now.... brilliant avatar mate!

Haha, Patrick Stewart made that look so believable.
Saw that shot somewhere else on tv recently, might have been on 20to1 or some show like that.

Do you mean its more exciting on television compared to downloading in terms of the risk factor in missing the episode or do you mean more exciting because its on your television set as opposed to a smaller PC monitor?

If its the latter, join the 21st century mate Get yourself a media streamer so you can watch your downloaded content on your big plasma screen.

perhaps 'Flash Forward' will turn out to be SciFi and not another terrorist/government conspiracy show.

I suspect, though, that the writers don't actually have a clue about where the show will lead, similar to "Lost".

or do you mean you like the anticipation each week? rather than the instant gratification that downloading brings.

certainly, my friends with small children, feel this way about TV shows and downloading. Waiting for a show to air is something they look forward to each week.

Want to know why SciFi shows don't last as long, Fahim...

Not enough gratuitous sex or insanely grotesque violence
No "dumb blondes" in bikinis
No "reality TV" based moments
It involves some science (yuk, weird stuff!!!)
No banal or pathetically obvious storylines

Yeah, it's the wait and the anticipation. I could have DLed Dollhouse when it was airing, but i liked waiting for each episode, gives you more time to think about it rather than just "next".

I just think DLing can make you a tad jaded about what is good and what isnt, people dont let things sink in nowdays its just next next next.
Tends to be the easier something to get, the less significant it becomes.

I DL things when
a. it isnt available in Australia (or will be a year or two wait)
b. if i've already seen it, but wasn't that into it that i bought it on DVD or
c. a second or third season of something i have not seen is starting to air and i want to catch up before it starts.

Hehe thanks. There's another one where Commander Ryker is doing the facepalm sitting next to Picard. That one is pretty funny too.

So will there be anymore defying gravity shows after no. 10 which I have seen.

Ive seen the opening SGU episode too, I enjoyed it, and eagerly await more, and hug my ADSL connection for making it possible for me to see them

I've been resisting using Bittorrent and torrent programs , but TV is so hopeless lately. Been wondering what torrent program was the best.

Since you recomment Vuze , I've installed it and am downloading SGU 1-1 and SGU 1-2.
Will put them on a CDR or DVDR for later viewing , looks like it takes ages to download these torrents , a job to do in the backgound even on ADSL...

Utorrent

Some sticky questions

If it was supposedly an unmanned ship why was the life support system nearing depletion as the SGU arrived on board

If the ship only stopped off to plant stargates throughout different Universes how was it damaged prior too the the SGU team arriving as it's protected by a FF during flight

Do the maths the ship is an FTL ship, the SGU team are stranded several billion light years from home the ship was apparently launched by the ancients 100000 years ago, thats one fast FTL ship

Now for a real posser who or what and why was a shuttle launched from the ship at the end of the 3rd episode

What happened to the 2 other team members who gated to a different world while on the dessert planet
