Cheap (very!) eyepiece cap replacement

I bought a second hand 19mm Panoptic. Great, but I needed a top cap. I looked at options to purchase, but had a suggestion (thanks Greg - taminga16) that the cap from a milk bottom would likely fit. And they come in a bright yellow.

Well, it does fit and I like it. They are quite soft plastic. I found I had to cut out an inside ring of plastic for the best fit on the 19mm Pan. For other eyepieces, maybe it would be best left in place. The new cap will fit the eyepiece with rubber eye guard either down or up (last two photos).

Nice one Eric.
Just remember after a nights viewing not to put the Panoptic back in the fridge.

Cheers Daniel.

Wink EP Caps

Hi Eric,
Glad to hear that the caps fit, when milk sales go up we should put our hands out.

Regards,

Greg.

P.S. I too am rediscovering some female artists, and some new ones as well, look out for Madeleine Peyroux.
