I returned from Japan this morning to hear the following sad news...

From Peter, Paul and Mary -
Mary Travers passed away on September 16th. After successful recovery from leukemia through a bone marrow/stem cell transplant, Mary succumbed to the side effects of one of the chemotherapy treatments

From Laugh-in (the TV Show) -
Henry Gibson also recently passed away. While I enjoyed his work on Laugh-in, my favorite role of his was in "The Blues Brothers" movie where he played the role of the leader of the IL Neo-nazi...

Lastly Patrick Swayze passed as well...

Bummer...

I hadn't heard about Henry Gibson.... He was great in the Kentucky Fried Movie!

Henry Gibson was also the freaky doctor who everyone feared in the early Tom Hanks movie, "The Burbs".
Sad to hear about these passings...

One of the best lines in the BB movie... "I hate Illinois Nazis"

and Mary Travers, such an iconic trio. How sad. I recently watched an excellent doco on Peter Paul and Mary, late last year. Three talented artists with a lot of personal conviction.
