Star Trails over Linden Observatory

last Saturday night, Canon 450 D on a fixed tripod

I am beginning to quite like this type of image..the only thing I came away from Border StarGaze-other than the Argo Navis door prize of course -was this image linked below

I really liked how the trees were light painted by people's red torches and you can see the clouds and the Milky Way in the same frame

Thanks for looking

Narayan

Nice shots Narayan. I especially liked the Boarder Star Gaze shot. It looks like viewing stars down a tunnel. Great effect.

Narayan,

Agreed with everyone else, great shot.

You lucky so-and-so, winning an Argo Navis!

Narayan, Great photo. I came away from Queensland Astrofest and tried a tachnique Houghy showed me of taking multiple exposures of say 3 minutes with a 2 second gap between exposures and then stacking them in a free program called Startrails. Gives a really cool circular effect.

I actually used Startrails for this image. just didnt shoot for long enough and had a big gap between 5 minute subs
