Advice please

I will be flying down to Sydney on holidays in September and was hoping to get to the astronomy shops around where I will be staying, Waterloo. Not knowing Sydney I was wondering if anyone can advise me which shops are accessable by public transport. I will be attempting to get to Andrews Comms to visit Luke but as to anything else I am lost.

Bintel isn't far from Waterloo at 84 Wentworth Park Road Glebe. You can probably get there with a couple of buses.

Andrews is at Shop 8, 41-51 Bathurst St, Greystanes. Your best bet might be train to Wentworthville and taxi from there.

Go to http://www.131500.com.au/ and let it do the work.

Astro-Optics is in Crows Nest, you can take the train to St Leonards and its about 15-20 minutes walk from there.

Thanks for info and the link to transport. Last time I was in Sydney I caught a train from Liverpool to Hornsby in 1975.
Things might have changed a bit.

Probably the only thing that hasn't changed is the train!

Not much has changed, it is still terrible to commute to anywhere in Sydney.

Easy Adrian - from Waterloo catch a quick taxi ride through the Cross City Tunnel. It pops out at the other end right near Bintel in Glebe. Short, sweet and easy.

Lazybones...

Bintel is a 10 minute walk from Broadway, any bus along Broadway will do (get off at the stop near Mountain St).

Thanks for the advice I will have a look at their websites later. I will be shopping for an 80 mm guide scope so I will find the likeliest astroshop and make them the first port of call.

I got this one.

https://www.bintelshop.com.au/Product.aspx?ID=8162

They used mine to demonstrate installation on a C8. Check they have stock, and let them know what you want to mount it on to ensure you get the right bits.

This is the one I was looking at https://www.bintelshop.com.au/Product.aspx?ID=7877 I already have Guide rings to suit and a mounting plate, all I need is an extension tube.

They have recently (as in the last month or so) moved to somewhere in Artarmon. I'm sure a quick Google will find the new address which would also be accessible by train, next stop from St Leonards.

If you want a bit of a venture, York Optical is located in Brookvale which is a bus ride from Wynyard. If it's a nice day, you can stroll over to Curl Curl or Dee Why beach

For BINTEL, catch the Metro Light Rail (Tram) from Central Station to Glebe (9th stop). Walk 200m back along Pyrmont Bridge Road towards fish market/City (past the pub) and you are at Bintel.

$5.70 return

All advice taken on board. I will be in Sydney for a week and will have to watch excess baggage coming back onthe plane. I think I had better leave the credit card at home.
