I heard about this the other day.

Australia is now ranked 16th on FIFA's list.

While that may not sound too impressive, keep in mind that this list comprises every nation on the planet and they all play the sport at international level.

Not bad when you look at some of the nations below us on the list, and when you think how many Aussie fans of other less internationally competitive sports don't consider us a 'Soccer nation'.

The sleeping giant continues to stir!!!
