Veil at Astrofest

Last night of Astrofest 15 x 5min shots through my ED80 -Guided

processed in PS4 and stacked in Nebulosity.

Any suggestions how I can increase the detail of the Veil without increasing the background noise.

Thanks Geoff

Looks good to me Geoff. You've captured the subtle colours.

Very nice Veil but the only suggestion is longer subs and more of them. Take lots of dark frames, calibrate with flats and overall your images will improve. Nothing beats exposure time.

Onya Geoff, that's come out rather nicely for the number of exposures.

Looking forward to giving this one a go sometime.

Regards,
Humayun

A good capture Geoff especially for 75 min.
The Veil is quite dim to image and needs a lot of exposure to bring out detail, so my only suggestion is the same as what Doug said, longer subs and more of them.
These days I try and take as many darks as lights and I usually take around 25 flats as well.

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments.

Andrew (RB), I've just seen your 6 hour shot of the veil. It looks fabulous - well done

As you said there's nothing like lots of subs to bring out the detail.

Geoff
