just a quickie m20

i cant believe the weather here, wind clouds rain gale force etc etc etc.
not much to show for it as a result. the only one half presentable

2.5 hrs M20
flt132 and qhy8

i stretched it as far as it would go, it needs more data to go further and or cleaner. sorry about the jpeginess, 200 kb does that. have not got a bigger image as i will add to it before it goes up on that scale.

comments welcome.... if you have an idea what to process to improve it let me know( given i will hopefully add another couple hours somewhere along the line).

Dont know what you're talking about Clive.. That result looks fantastic... and 2.5hrs exposure is hardly a quicky! haha I posted an image on friday night that was a total of 15 minutes exposure.. THAT! is a quicky...

This shot of yours is great.. the star colours are great, the nebula is well defined, colours are spot on, guiding looks sweet.. focus is spot on...

What more can you ask for?

Well done.. I look forward to a deeper image with more data added..

How much data do you want Clive? If you get any more you will see the ants on the trifids flower.

Looks good to me but I would tone it back a bit as it looks like it has been stretched to breaking point.

It's been just as bad up here Mate. Seems like months on end. At least we cracked one nice night at BSG and managed to catch a couple.

Cheers.

Looks like you've got a very nice image there Clive but if anything you need to ease back on the stretching, not do more. Less stretching will still reveal the depth you're after and enrich the colours.

Cheers, Marcus

thanks for looking ,

marcus, doug... i did take the stretching probably past what the data, allowed, hence no big pic. will have another look if and when the opportunity to collect more data arrives. (still raining and cloudy)

alex, and jo, thanks for your input

cheers clive

Clive I'm with the others, I love it, it's a little different but it really appeals to me.

2.5 hrs is nothing to sneeze at either.

Very nice work.

Thanks RB , atalas.

i went for the approach strongman mike had with his Centaurus A, (not that many hours exposure though) stretch it to see some unexpected detail , or perspective. It does need more data to do it justice, i am trying to set a 8 hour data for each object, as that sems to get to a point where stretching it induces very little noise. Not really feasible with the weather at the moment however. i will add to it and give it a repro once more data is available.

Clive,

At 2.5 hours, that is looking awesome. I await what you'll do with 8 hours of data. And, yes, with 8 hours, it'll hold up well to stretching.

Regards,
Humayun
