Jupiter 13 August 2009

Seeing continues to be a little uncooperative. Imaged Jupiter last night and got some reasonable detail but I am still awaiting the outstanding nights from last year and that one night early this year.

Details below the image.

Still a good result, Paul. Nice colours and processing.

Thanks Mike, yep the red channel was pretty good but the other two channels were well less than they should have been. As usual the red channel seems to hold the image up. Next time.

Nice work paul - on this laptop there's a fair bit of limb darkening present, only the central part of the disk is fully illuminated. I guess that's Dell for you ;-)

cheers, Bird

Thanks for the comments guys.

Anthony, you are right, I had to do some fancy work to limb and on your dell it would appear darker. Older screens would show the limb darkening a bit. It looks fine on my screen but not how I would really want it.

Lester, if you get one, I should at the same time. We just need the jet stream and lower layers to travle nicely with each other and we are in business.

Thanks Matt, I will try my best.
