We are spoilt for choice with globulars in the SH. While the showpieces (Omega and 47Tuc) are often imaged...there are many delightful alternatives.

Like M55.

Not a lot of data here, LRGB 5:10:5:10 mins (as the hour was late...but sky clear!), but not too shabby a result?

Thats well nice Peter, i like the abundance of blue stars, makes them shine like crazy diamonds (JJJ will be here any second with the Pink Floyd comparison)

I often use a short luminance frame to keep the noise levels down and boost the S/N a tad. Its subtle, but works well with short exposure sequences.

I was surprised to find that there don't seem to be too many images on the Web of this Glob....it really deserves a good deal more exposure than given by yours truly...perhaps more data to follow.

Lovely image Peter. Colours are great. Isn't it time for a flattener or reducer though? I can see some field curvature in the corners.

OK there is a *teeny* (edge crop attached) bit of curvature at the edges...but I guess I'll have to live with the shoddy RCOS flattner already permanently bolted to my scope.

Peter, I thought that you did not have one. I have the same problem with the Tak flattener, it just looks slightly oval on my images too. Just being picky I guess.

I like the way that you can see almost clear through the centre of the glob. Short exposures No burn out. Nice image.
