Inside Corona Australis Nebula NGC 6726

I've imaged the Corona Australis nebulae several times previously and each time the core of the NGC 6726 nebula is over exposed by the two bright stars near the nebula core. Any detail that might be there is hidden.

In these new images of NGC 6726 I set out to create an image that would show the inner region of the nebula. I used the imaging processing mask technique to reveal details in the inner core and produced two new images that show the detail I wanted to see.

So here's the image http://www.skylab.com.au/pmsa/ngc6726_pg2.html

Wow great images Paul, the subtle colour differences are evident in the nebula. Makes me wonder if it changes over time, would an image of it taken in a years time with the same gear look any different?

good stuff, you managed as you say, to not over expose the stars... i have seen a few pics of this region and over exposure often results in more detail but lost stars.

Thanks Scott. Remind me in a year (or a decade) and I'll do another image, if there is any change you'll be the first to know!
