Pancakes at Punakaiki

On our way to Nelson in the far north of the South Island we stopped at the Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki.

Pretty interesting geological formations which are still not 100 percent understood.

The landscape along the coast leading to Nelson is fabulous. Lovely coastal stretches with lush vegetation and dramatic beach scenery.

Only a few days to go now until we fly back to Oz.

It's been a terrific break and I can thoroughly recommend NZ for a getaway. I would like to return, to tour the North Island.

Matt,

They definitely are interesting.

Glad you managed to capture this location. My efforts turned out fairly poorly from initial looks.

The road there is stunning as you mentioned. I managed to make video footage of parts of the drive.

Regards,
Humayun
