Planet viewing: what was it?

Friday, Midnight. WA time.
Sitting approx 30° above horizon, slightly lower than the moon, rough 4oclock 2d bearing from moonface.

When viewed thru the scope it showed as a planet, faint brown stripes and with 4 distinct bright glowing objects that appeared to be in orbit around it.

I'm hazarding a guess it was Jupiter.

Anyone else catch a glimpse of this on Friday night?
