Full moon

I was contemplating doing some imaging tonight but with the moon being nearly full and some cloud lingering I decided not to set up the gear then around 5:00 the clouds start too clear but the suns sets at 5:18 so it gets dark before I get a chance to set up my gear.

How many of you actually image when there is a full moon and have a dark site

How many image when there is a full moon and they have LP skies

while I don't image, I won't be outside on a full moon night observing. Taking a 12" dob outside to view a few large bright open clusters and stars, or the moon itself, is just too much hassle.

Once I get a mount for my little russian mak, I'll be out viewing the moon itself at every available opportunity

I image all the time when I get the chance.

Narrowband filters and a dark site are very helpful in a full moon.

Last 2 nights have been really clear, and the moon like a searchlight
To frustrating trying to find objects when its like this, so the covers stay on the scope.

Well with just what i have at the moment (for now) the moon is the only thing that i am able to take pics of
And i still do love looking at moon pics too Sometimes we forget how important our moon is

Seeing how it's about the only time we get clear skies nowadays, I'll image during full moon.
Sure the results are only so so, but it's a chance to practice and hone your skills.

Hi JJJ. Admirte your determination but to give you a sense of how washed out by moonlight an image can be, have a look at this Eta Carina - 20 x 30 subs, guided, DSS and CS2 for curves and this was 2 nights ago when the moon was not yet full. Best I could get it. I'm sure you can get better and I'm looking forward to admiring your efforts- as always.

Most of my imaging is for photometry and the moon doesn't make that much difference. It's better without but can still be achieved with the moon present. At least it makes it easier to see the occasional cloud.
