New IIS Member & Some Recent CCD Work

Hi All,

I've just joined IIS. It good to finally find a Aussie forum. Here is a quick introduction. I'm 28, I live 55km south east of Melbourne under darkish skies, I'm right into CCD imaging. My first telescope was a 4.5" tasco reflector when I was around 8 years of age. I got bitten by the imaging bug when I purchased a Meade LXD55 10 SN a few years ago.

Here is some of my more recent work with a LX200Gps and William Optics refractor.

M83
Centaurus A - NGC 5128
Omega Centauri

I also have a website for anyone who is intrested. www.southern-astro.com

Cheers,
Brad Moore

Wow! Nine hours exposure for one shot! Great shots that have taken many hours of work.

Welcome Brad, fantastic shots and a great site too.

Hope to see more of you around IIS, and keep us entertained with those fabulous images.

Are you able to come to the IceInSpace Star Camp in Ballarat at the end of this month?

Hi Iceman,

I will see what I can do. I will be scopeless as my rig isn't portable anymore.

I would be happy to drop by and meet some of the members. Unless someone wants to lend me a G8? I might be able to invite one of my other astro buddies along who has a more portable setup. I'll see what I can do.

Cheers,
Brad

I've seen your work before up on the LXD55 site. I didn't realise you had a website. Your images are fantastic! You've done some great work. You should be proud.

Is your 300D modded in anyway? e.g. no IR filter? Have you thought about using a Paracorr correct? I wonder if you would be able to reach focus with the Paracorr and the SN?

The RC has been on order for about 120 days now. I should have it by Nov-Dec this year I hope. However I'm enjoying the wide field work with my refractor.

Cheers,
Brad

Hi Xstream,

Lets just say I had some operator error with my IIS account. (my anti-spam software ate the activation email) Hope to see you on the IRC again.

Cheers,
Brad

Iceman,
There are a few more of us. You should join the IRC one night and recruit! We'd love to have you onboard. There is also the MelbMeadeScopes yahoo list to recruit from as well.
