Cool NGC/IC Project back on line

Chris Watson and a group of like minded astronomers have resurrected the NGC/IC Project
A very helpful site for "Deep Sky" observers

Ron,

That's fantastic news!
Was a handy place to get info on any NGC object (data and pics).

Thanks for letting us know it's back online.

Regards, Rob

Thanks Ron. The things one can learn! Looking through the table, I thought, what is this really bright galaxy (2.2) with an NGC number, in Tuc? Huh? Oops, Small Magellanic Cloud - NGC 292

(Also discovered that M31 is NGC 224, while answering the question - what about this other bright (3.6) galaxy?)

A great collection of accessible data in one site. I love the observing list generator!

It reminds me of the comment by a staff member at Bintel Sydney when I was there a week or so ago: "These really are great days for amateur astronomy." When you think of the information, technological changes and the quality and affordability of equipment available now... how right he was!!
