Exclamation Synta 120ED ...first glimpse!

Found this on a Polish site:

http://market.fotoclassic.pl/product...roducts_id=340

Synta 120ED/f8.3 on an HEQ5/Synscan (Skyscan) GOTO at 13,490 ZL ...that's about AU$5395 (1 ZL = 40 AU cents)

Click on scope image to enlargen it... If my eyes aren't seeing things... thats an EQ6 PRO not an HEQ5 PRO as advertised... which makes this a *big* OTA, right?!

Thoughts?

Not sure about the HEQ5 vs EQ6.... I think they both look very similar.... just different sizes.
Would be a nice scope/mount regardless I think....

... hang on... the 80ED and 100ED packages on that site have the same image:
http://market.fotoclassic.pl/product...roducts_id=338

Now I'm confused... it may be an 100ED image? What do you think?

If you check page 80 of Septembers AS&T it looks identical to the new Tasco 100mmED refractor, only on a bigger mount.

The price for the ED120 OTA is 1990 Euro in Europe. That would suggest that it will be here between $2500 and $3000. This assumption is made from the comparison of the price for the ED80. The ED80 is in Europe 490 Euro and here between $599 (when on special) and $690.

It will be interesting how well its chromatic correction is. Other manufactures of APO's in the aperture range use quiet complicated optical designs to eliminate false colour and the ED120 seems to have a doublet with one ED lens only.

All else being equal, the 120 will have to be of considerably longer focal ratio than the f7.5 of the ed80 to match it on colour performance.

Yeah Mak/newt, hmmm. The EQ6 would be ok though. Don't know about the refractor though.
