Eagle Nebula

Hi All

Here's another image from 22nd ... due to smoke I could only get 4x600sec exposures @-18C ... wanted to get more but guiding would suddenly chuck a wobbly half way through ... so after numerous aborted shots I gave up around 3.30am.

I've even had to apply Gradient XTerminator to this ... a process I have not used since I moved to this location ... just shows how much crap was in the air

Good shot Steve, I can understand your problems with the smoke. It is raining here now so at least that will settle the smoke this year.
The image appears to have an overall red/violet hue to it. May be the smoke. For all your guiding problems it's still not a bad image.

Hi Steve,

You've got to love that -18c. Lovely and smooth. I asume this was through the Flt 110 and what camera are you using to take this image. Looks great to me.

Mark (Flt 110 owwner too)

Wish we could have some rain here Doug ... there has been smoke somewhere on the horizon every day around here for the last few weeks.

Nice one Steve. A few colour balance tweaks in the shadows should aid in equalising the background. Good details on display. Well done.
