M51 & ngc 5195, ngc 5139

First time for both of these objects.

M51 was transiting between trees so I had a limited time to capture it.

M51 & ngc 5195 7min 20sec
Omega Centauri 3min 30 secs

Mini Tower
ED 80
Canon 20D

well done jjj !
I didn't even realise we could image M51 here! it shows up as lower than 10degrees above horizon for me!

capturing it at all is a great achievement!

OC is lovely, nice tight stars, that's one target that benefits from the short exposures.

Like Frank said, it's a great effort to get M51. Now I wish I had captured it when I was living in Europe, but I was just starting out... at least I got to see it visually nice and easy.
