New Takahashi scope

There is a new Takahashi scope about to be released at NEAF in New York over the weekend.

We should know what it is by Monday.

Any punts on what it will be?

I'd say some sort of mirrored scope like the Epsilon 180ED as Tak has the refractor range pretty well covered.

I vaguely remember some talk of a Lurie-Houghton or modified Dall-Kirkam. It was just a rumour at the time.

I'd speculate that given the economic climate and they are Japanese and tend to like small things that it would be a much smaller scope.

Last release was the FSQ85ED. Maybe an FSQ60ED is another contender or an FSQ128ED even.

The FSQ is probably their most successful sales scope ever so it would make sense to expand that line.

Yes, the big new Epsilon is probably a bit much to hope for right now. Still, think of the images you'll obtain with a 350mm version!

Looks like it will be a BRC-250P to replace the current BRC-250. A few more features but more expensive.

Per the Tak Uncensored Yahoo Group it is that. A BRC250 with carbon fibre tube, F5, F8 or F3.9 configurations and secondary focuser like an RCOS.

I hope the correctors are able to be used on existing BRC's as it will make mine more versatile.
