Thanks Geoff, the rings were open 3.07 degrees for this image. The current slight increase in ring opening is only temporary, due to the geometry of Earths orbit relative to that of Saturn. The rings will close and be edge on in September, but when that occurs Saturn's orbit will be taking it to close to the Sun, relatively, for us to observe this happen.

Thanks Bird, the R channel for this RGB is the highest res R channel I have ever captured of Saturn. I do appreciate the opinion of a planetary imager of your stature

Thanks Darren, it is a great temptation to just quickly run avi files through Registax without any pre or post processing but using Virtual Dub and ppmcentre pre Registax V5 and then Astra Image Pro and Photoshop CS4 post, does make a difference to the final result. Of course being fastidious with collimation and focusing and have good seeing all contribute.
