Hello all,
This seems like a great place to learn. Just signed up tonight and would really like to get into Astro photography. From just looking at this site it seems (and please correct me if I am wrong) that some of the images are stacked and processed to give you clarity, colour and contrast, on video?
Any info you can give me on how to go about getting started would be great.
I have added a few images I took tonight straight out of my camera just to see what would happen. Looking at some of the other moon images here I am reasonably embarrassed. Still you have to start some where.
This shot was taken at F8, 125th sec, Nikon D300, Nikon VR F2 200mm Prime lens with a 1.4 teleconverter, one image.
Thanks very much for your comments. I have been reading about mounting a digital camera and lens onto a tracking tripod and some people are getting dome really nice images. I found a copy of SKY magazine from last October and there are some ripper images made with a D300 using this technique. I thought if I could buy a good quality tripod with tracking capability I could eventually buy a telescope to go with it later on. Is this sound thinking or is there a better approach?
