Star Colours in Crux

It was too hazy last night to collect any deep images. So I decided to see what I could get in star colours from Crux.

Details Canon 5DH, Canon 300mm F2.8L at f/5, hutech LPR filter.

I did not autoguide as the exposures were only four minutes. There is a small amount of drift over this time which has the effect of smoothing any noise when many exposures are stacked.

Exposures 10x4 min at 200ISO and 400ISO. Usual HDR method.

Full res image 3MB

I think the Maltese Cross like scatter is coming from the microlenses on the sensor.

This has been upsized to 7k pixels wide and RL enhanced.

This will be part of the mosaic of Carina to Crux.

Your shots are getting better and better. Can't wait to see the whole mosaic when done. Should be cool.

The colour contrasts are exceptional against the distant star field.
