Amazing Tornado Footage

Check out this footage taken from a video camera deployed into the path of an F3 tornado. The torrnado makes a direct hit....:

There is also a group building an armoured vehicle designed to be driven into straight into a Tornado to film inside the vortice....crazy, mad!

Not bad footage of the tornado, but not exactly what they wanted. The tornado was a fairly weak one, I think they wanted something a bit stronger to get some idea of inside structure. Still, The idea is there for future inventors.

hrmmm....i think cnn had some footage from guys on the ground.

Y'all here that Rita is now Cat 5 ? She isn't as big as Katrina was, but there is still a lot of warm GOM air to eat up...I actually think she will get bigger!

It would be devastating if Rita hit New Orleans again, i just don't think the city could cope with another pounding.. just after the news this morning said that they've finished pumping out the water from Katrina!

meanwhile - a triple header in the East Pacific...don't think it is perfect storm material, being overshadowed by Rita I suspect.

nah, she is shifting slightly north of west (not northwest...lol...) and will hit somewhere in Texas. Starting to move into cooler water so it will loose intensity. NHC puts her at a Cat 3 at landfall...
