Ngc4945

Hi all

Got out the night before last and did some imaging ... conditions were great ... no wind to speak of ... no clouds and pretty cool ambient temperature. The visuals here still amaze me as I look up at the arc of the Milky Way with all it's dust lanes spreading across my sky.

The only problem I had was CCDOPS spitting the dummy for some reason occasionally throughout the session which meant a loss of 3x600sec shots and 1x900sec shot so a total of 45 minutes of lost data. I don't know what the problem was ... it would suddenly report having an error just before downloading the images ... and don't you hate that little message apologizing for any inconvenience that you are about to lose your data then shuts the program down.
So I'll be re installing CCDOPS before my next session to avoid the bad language eminating from the observatory in the wee small hours of the morning .. not that there's anyone around to here on five acres ... I hope

Anyway I shot 2 objects NGC3324 for more data and also this image of NGC4945. I'm not too happy with the Mistral Nebula data as yet so am only posting 4945. My usual setup was used .... 6x900sec exposures @-12C.

Nice one Steve. This one's on my hit list next if these clouds ever go away.

Cheers, Marcus

Hello Steve:
Another wonder of the South hemisphere, impossible for my latitude.
I saw very well, particularly, liked the care of stars during the processing. Many greetings
Cesar
