Saturn 15 March

Seeing was very good for a short time last night, close to the best this apparition so far.

This is the first colour image processed, I'll try and get a second image to see if anything shows up in the animation.

cheers, Bird

Hey Bird,

Just how good was the seeing last night, looks like you were out about 80 minutes after I packed up.

Love your image, a truly stunning rendition, such delicate detail. There was a fair bit happening earlier in the night and I would have loved to see those features imaged by you.

Top stuff
Regards
Trevor

G'day Trevor, I started at about 11.30pm and packed it in around 1.30am. Most of the time the seeing wasn't stable but there was a short period around this image that was very nice.

The images before and after this one are not as good, but I might get a red-channel comparison.

Hoping for another good night tonight, might also get up early and have a look at Jupiter :-)

cheers, Bird

Great image. Be interested to know what equipment you used to image this!
