Weird but this morning some workers asked me this morning whats that in the sky at 5.30 CST ......well straight away i replied rainbow cause thats what it was.

It was dark and being excited by the moon now there calling it a moonbow and all i could come back with was a laugh.
Cheers Kev.

Sure it was a moonbow - haven't you heard of the term before? Its a real phenomenon.
Lucky you for seeing one, I'd love to have been there!

Niagara Falls has 'Luna Island' named because it was a place where moonbows were frequently seen. Light pollution has taken that phenomenon away from there now though unfortunately.

I had the camera there Jen but its shutter dont stay open..cheap rubbish.
I,ll explain it to ya Dark by cloud as it was the night b4 full moon.
The moon had to be at about 20 deg before moonset with a cloud bank out the east with showers.
The bow was light grey in colour (sorry no colour visible) and it was the full 180 deg.

Now aint that better than a pic .
Cheers Kev.
