Monkey's head : ngc2174-ngc2175

Hello all,

first (Ha)HaOIIIOIII attempt for me. The colors results of layers combination can be funny

But here's a serious one

Ha :10x10mn - 5nm Ha Astrodon filter
OIII : 10x10min - 5nm OIII Astrodon filter

Telescope : '86 Epsilon160 + Audine Kaf 1603me .
Mount : em200 Temma2Jr
Location : Haguenau (France)

Pre and post-processing with Iris 5.55.

Hope you enjoy it Sorry for the slightly lenghtened stars, the roof is not always rigid enough

Small size (242 Ko) : http://scala200.free.fr/images/e160/...00-rec-red.jpg

Full size (782 Ko) : http://scala200.free.fr/images/e160/...10x600-rec.jpg

Clear skies.
Pierre.

Nice shot. Easy to see how it gets its name--unlike many of them. There is one interesting thing I noticed and that is if you look at the green channel there is some nebulosity below the stuff showing. It's very obvious if you bump up the green channel with curves in photoshop. However this is very faint in the red channel, so there really is some green (presumably OIII) light that needs to be brought out.

Thanks, the picture is designed like this :

- luminance : Ha - rich -
- Red :Ha - rich
- green : OIII - poor -
- blue : OIII - poor -

The OIII channels have already bumped with a log (see iris software), if it is again enhanced, too much noise appear

I miss a SII signal acquiring ... maybe this next night

Clear skies
Pierre.
