Jupiter - Moon Grazing Occultation - 23 Feb 2009

In Kuala Lumpur this morning, we had a rare Jupiter-Moon grazing occultation. In fact, it was my first grazing occulation ever! Scrambling to find a clear eastern horizon, and ended up only having about 15 minutes to set up the scopes and stuff before the occulation starts.

Below is the one taken via my Canon 300D.

Very well done Shah,

Looks great and looks like you have captured first contact spot on.

Thanks guys for the comments.

Looking at the grazing path at http://www.lunar-occultations.com/io...223jupiter.htm , it is apparent not many people will be witnessing the event or even realize the event that has unfolded this morning!

Lucky me, I got good weather and nice timing.
