What a beautiful conjunction!

Did anyone else get out to see the conjunction this morning?

It was just a beautiful morning.. of course I have heaps of shots to go through! I'm pleased - they looked nice on the back of the camera.

Will post some later today.

Look forward to seeing everyone else's shots.

A lovely binocular view but just as nice naked eye.

It's now completely cloudy, so I feel very lucky to have had clear skies and a beautiful dawn sky to observe it.

and missed it. It was cloudy and smoky to the East, however.

Conjunctivitis instead of conjunction...

Unfortunately skies out my way were cloudy. Funny thing is I got up at 4AM to check the skies and out my back porch (SE) could see Scorpius as clear as anything, got back for a snooze, up at 5:30AM and as the title suggests, all clouded over ...oh well, better luck next time.
Perhaps it was the jinx of having received my new refractor on Friday

I stayed up late, too hazy. Got up 4:00am, still too hazy. That's how I now feel.

Yes Mike, a lovely sight in the east off Coffs harbour.
Another question befalls me though! On satellite watching of an evening while partaking a lovely vintage red in the spa!!!! I see what seems to be flashes high in the cosmos (no, not too many wines). Do the satellites take our photos? is it aliens watching us? any ideas????

Yep, it was a great sight! I got up at 4am and had a nice look at Comet Lulin through the scope, took a few comet images, and then took a few images of the planets and Moon rising.
Definately worth getting up for! I haven't had a chance to download the images yet, but hopefully will this evening.

Cheers,
Stephen

I got up at 4:30am this morning and in Sydney - forget it - we were blanketed out with cloud. Rather disappointed as I have had this one penciled in for some time.

Instead I got questioned by the police who were cruising around the area.

All three will be up again tonight with the moon a bit further below them I think. Let's hope it is a clear morning tomorrow....at least the police will recognise me second time around.
