NGC2997 reprocess

A beautiful galaxy. I've always wanted to image this one.

I redid the processing on this to bring it out more.

LRGB 90 30 30 30, FLI Microline 8300, Tak BRC250.

Thanks Frank. I cleaned up that halo. The BRC and those filters can have some bad reflections at times.

Thanks Doug, I fixed the halo as much as I can. Mike is very passionate about his hobby, so perhaps that is a compliment??

Greg.

Very nice Greg, I think I need to pull out the bigger scope and blow the cobwebs off missing out on all these wonderful Galaxys

Thanks Frank. I had all my attention on the galaxy itself and overlooked the bright halo. Funny how this scope does those large halos sometimes and other times it doesn't.

Thanks Les. Galaxies are appealling but they are more work - longer overall exposure and more delicate processing.

Nice one Greg! I love galaxy shots.. Im yet to do a small galaxy myself... Only one I've shot is M31 so far... Got my sights set on M83 for ST-9E first Light...Maybe M104..

You've got great detail in there, and lovely colours.. I like it a lot.

Cheers.

Thanks Alex.

I'd shoot M83 over M104 as M104 is quite dim in comparison.

Greg.

To reprocess or not to reprocess...that is the question?

Mike

Very nice image Greg. I like this, nice image scale. I really like the way the galaxy seems to hang in space. Colour looks really good too. Overall a really nice image.

The rain's eased right off, for now. They're expecting it back later in the week or next week.
