Ngc1365

A beautiful southern galaxy. I have wanted to image this one for some time.

I took this image over the Christmas break and it is a total of 6 hours.

Tak BRC 250, FLI Microline 8300, Astronomik filters, Tak NJP mount.

I probably will reshoot this one if opportunity permits with the TEC180mm using the same camera and it will make an interesting shootout - Tak versus TEC!

Greg.

Sweet image! Colors are very pretty..

The extension in the arms is perhaps the most pronounced I've seen in an image of 1356...

Alex.

ps - Looking forward to the Heavyweight title fight Tak vs TEC!

I think I'll keep my estimates to myself for the time being... but I have my hopes on what will win..

That would make a great title for a review of scopes posted somewhere.

A nice little battle. Tak mirror muscle versus TEC finesse.

Top image Greg - It certainly sets the benchmark....back to the drawing board for me and my NGC1365 images.

Keep them coming.

Great pic Greg, always astounding quality and this one almost LEAPS off the screen at you.

Well done!

Aahh, Alex, I think you will find that this is NGC 1365 not 1356, maybe that one has smaller spiral arms, I dunno? (probably just dyslexia I 'spose)

Cant wait for the Tak vs TEC, my Tic Toc is counting the SECs

Cheers

Chris

be an interesting result to compare,

the outer arms are well defined, perhaps sacrificing though the detail in the core, could you reblend a less brightened one into the core to give the dust lanes just a bit more detail.

im hoping aperture wins on this shootout
