My M42 image

Orion widefield on 19 December. DSLR piggy backed on 5 inch Newtonian. 15 second exposure

(my polar alignment must have gone off a bit-probably kicked the tripod leg, couldnt get more than 15 seconds without star trails)

5 inch Newtonian on EQ 2 mount
60 second exposure
best 12 frames stacked in registax 3, levels tweaked in photoshop

Nice images Seeker. I especially like the close up. There are so many stars in your wide field of orion, that it's hardly recogniseable! You must have nice dark skies. Well, keep up the good work!

i live in Sydney's Western Suburbs and these images were taken from my backyard!

cant see any of those stars with the naked eye I'm afraid
