M42 Revisted - 8" Dob First light.

First time I've tested the 8" Newt(skywatcher Dob)/ST80 piggybacked on the EQ6 and despite setting everything up and then realizing that the DSLR T-adapter ext was too long; I was lucky enough after running backwards and forwards through the spares to find out that the supplied eyepiece/focuser adaptors(1.25"/2") on skywatcher dobs can actually unscrew!(lol) The 2" adaptor ext was a perfect screw in to the Canon EOS T-plate and allowed me to focus with enough focus travel.

** I forgot I'd enabled 2x2 binning plus didnt try to frame the Runnin' Man(I was tired), but it worked out quite well.

Very happy(for now).

5 x 3mins ISO400
5 x 30sec ISO800

Dark subtracted only.

Tweaked and improved a little more. Definitely needs those short exp ores for the core.

Very happy for those few hours of testing.

That`s pretty good result! you should be quiet happy with that..
Just add some long exposures and some shorter one`s for the core and you shall be happy as Larry!
cheers Gary

The black point is better in the second shot, the color balance is better in the first..

Great shot. Guiding looks spot on and processing looks good as well.
